“I’m not anti-speed cameras. They are a piece of electronics on the side of the road designed to do a job. But they have to be right and they have to be correct”-this stated by Andrew Fowler.
Having just been pulled over by a hand held I was informed that the device was in calibration and had bee “calibrated this morning” and was shown a ‘silver label’ which stated – Calibrated.
As someone who is responsible for calibrations in industry my company is required to not only present the valid certification – but also evidence of the equipment that was used to calibrate the equipment as well along with there own calibration certifcates.This is to demonstrate, typically upon audit, that the traceability has an unbroken chain.I feel that the calibration issues of speed cameras has not been fully explored and the ploice are probably unaware of their statements to the public.
